Kumar Sangakkara has taken him to a new height with hitting four centuries in a row. No one before him could achieve this feat in all three formats of cricket.

As far  completed his fourth consecutive century against Scotland in their pool A match, where Sangakkara stroked 124 runs in just 95 balls.

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first, where they scored 363 runs in 50 overs with loss of their 9 wickets. Sangakkara scored his previous three tons against Australia, England and Bangladesh.

Scottish team has yet to bat. Scottish bowler Josh Davey took 3 and Richie Berrington took 2 wickets. Sri Lankan opener Thilkaratne Dilshan made a long runs and strong partnership with Sangakkara, as he scored 104 runs respectively.

Dilshan said, “”I am really enjoying it so far, I want to carry my form on for a few more games. It’s a great experience to bat with Kumar, he’s a great player and we’ve put on a lot of partnerships over the years. Hopefully we can have a few more and it will be good for the team. I am still enjoying my cricket and scoring runs so I’d like to carry on for a couple more years.”
